Death of a writer

Oh writer

Why don’t you die?

Your imperfect words

Symbolizing sounds symbolizing experiences

Can’t touch me

Plain characters

Boring dialogue

Used up plots

Silenced voice

Dull settings

Makes me want to vomit

All the words you are trying to force-feed me

Why don’t you die?

You would save me lots of time

Lots of trouble

Lots of pens

Lots of ink

Lots of hard generated electricity

Running in your energy sucking computer

Stop wasting your time

And Mine

Why don’t you die?

Your mountain high ego

Annoys me

I can’t take it anymore

I’m going to blast you into little little pieces

The Earth is going to shake

Are you ready to die?

Oh stupid writer

Nothing you write is yours

No, your writing is NOT yours

The topics you write about

Are not yours but gifts from the people you’ve met

Places you’ve been

Things you’ve read or seen

Your imagination which is not yours only mixes them up

Creating mutant like monsters

Nothing is yours, writer

Your hands that write are not yours

Your body that sits crouched writing is not yours

Your mind that thinks and thinks is not yours

Your consciousness that is conscious of itself is not yours

You are the product and its creator

You are the world stupid

You are your parents and grandparents who brought you up

You are the Buddhas and the Bodhisattvas who taught you the Dharma

You are the Earth in which you were born, the mountains, the rivers, the trees and all its sentient beings

You are all your loved ones

You are all those who have made you suffer

You are the stream of manifestations of divine Love

Was I able to kill you?

No? What?

Die writer, die!

Truth is that only by dying you become Alive

So fear not and Die

Let go of your shitty writing

And Die for your own personal Salvation

Just let yourself go and d..

The Cuckoo Sings

The cuckoo sings

Good news it brings

To my small cage

Of worldly things.

Please teach me

And set me free

My cuckoo friend

In an old cage I am,

Dirty cage

Worldly cage

Of birth, old age and death.

Please teach me

And set me free

My cuckoo friend

I wished that all birds like me

Could all be free

So I left your side

To help them break free

But nobody listened to me

Everyone is too busy

With worldly business

And since I am weak in the Dharma

Stuck in the cage I became

Suffering I am

Please teach me

And set me free

My cuckoo friend

Now I learned

That I can’t teach

Liberate anyone.

It’s all a construction of the ego.

It’s all about self-liberation

Whoever is tired of the saltiness of the Ocean of suffering

Will search for the purity of the sweet River

May all beings one day break free from this salty Ocean

May they find the source of the River of Life!

It’s time to emerge from the Ocean

Climb up the Mountain of Truth

And find the Source!

Please guide me

Dear cuckoo friend.

The Horse Owner

Once upon a time there was a horse owner who lost all his horses. Very sad and lonely, he went for a walk into the forest and stumbled upon a strong dark horse lost in it. This horse was stronger and taller than all his previous horses. The horse looked lost and confused in the forest so the horse owner tried to go help it. The horse owner approached the dark horse and tamed it with his kindness. Soon the horse started to follow and work for him. The owner could ride this horse everywhere at very fast speed. This dark horse would work very hard to follow any of the owner’s orders and the owner would praise and reward the horse for its hard work. Time went on, and the owner and the horse developed a relationship. Yet the dark horse had one very bad quality. It was very jealous and always wanted the owner to have full attention on it. Everytime the owner would ride another horse or even be friendly towards another horse, the dark horse would get very jealous and angry. And when the owner would try to ride the dark horse again, this horse would show its anger to the owner—the horse would jump around, go very fast, suddenly stop and make the owner fall and get hurt. The owner—sad, hurt and terrified didn’t know how to deal with the horse… Should I continue riding this horse? Should I run away from this horse? Should I find a new horse? This dark horse was very strong, powerful and scary so the owner didn’t know how to deal with it. Very worried, the owner got very sad and sick. Until one day, the owner realized that although he had lost all his horses, he still had lots of friends and relatives who really loved him and are ready to help him. Then the owner went to seek for help from his close friends and relatives and together they found a solution for ways to deal with the dark horse. You can still be friends with the dark horse but you can’t let it control your life. You can live without a horse but can’t live without your loved friends and relatives.

I dedicate this story to all those who suffer from their personal dark horses. Be strong, don’t be afraid and remember your close friends, teachers and/or relatives are there for you. Take the initiative, talk to them and they will help out. Stay strong and have faith.

Waking Up / Awakening Up

Pipiipiiipi, pipiipiiipi,

Alarm clock ringing,

Banging my head,

Shattering it into shards of broken thoughts,

To do lists…

Worries, fears and temptations.

A voice within says,

“I need to wake up”.

My body says,

“Why should I wake up?”

“I am warm and numb under these layers of blankets.”

“Covering me, protecting me from all chaos outside.”

“It’s cold and I don’t feel like moving. ”

“I am fine right here.”

So I remain numb and warm.

Dreaming, constructing and experiencing illusive worlds of

Comfort, temptations and pleasures.

But I still suffer somehow.

I am still unhappy,

While dream worlds arise and vanish,

Its process speeds up in an attempt to cover its own system flaws.

These flaws I notice yet I remain in this dreamlike world.

Numb, warm and lost.

Tired of cycling through bubble like dreams,

A voice whispers,

“It’s enough. I’m done with this! I am going to count down from ten and WAKE UP!”

Time passed as follows:

TEN years took Ulysses on his journey back home.

NINE muses needed to appear to inspire this poem.

EIGHT Immortals had to cross the sea together for a heavenly banquet.

SEVEN Pleiades sisters had to escape Orion to become stars.

SIX spheres of samsara one has to cycle through to plant the seed of liberation,

FIVE elements one needs to harmonize to grasp the Way,

FOUR Noble Truths one needs to internalize to find Nirvana,

THREE to understand Trinity,

TWO opposites to balance Ying Yang,

ONE to make sense of it All under God.

And I get out of bed!

It’s freezing cold outside.

I shake and tremble,

I mumble,

“Why did I do this?”

Then I go outside for a walk.

Light comes and dances with me,

Looking up,

The Dharma Sun shines

And warms me up,

From the heart,

Inside out,

Re-igniting the long lost spirit fire

That will light its way to true Awakening.
